1. Public and Private Colleges- Public Colleges are supported by the state. They may be cheaper than a private school. Private Colleges are non profit or profit and have higher tution than a public college. Private schools do offer more financial aid for students.

2. Vocational School- Are privately owned training schools that offer many types of training options. Ex. computer technology, cosmetology, mechanical repair, court reporting, paralegal services, office administration, and medical assistance. Theses can take 12 months to 3 years to complete.

2.1. Examples- computer technology, cosmetology, mechanical repair, court reporting, paralegal services, office administration, and medical assistance.

3. FASFA- Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Application for financial aid, loans, and grants. Can be considered for scholarships too.

4. 2 year Community College - Tend to be smaller than Universities. 2 year at community college and after that you can transfer to a 4 year college (Iowa Central)

4.1. Junior colleges- Junior colleges are pretty much the same thing as a community college but they are usually private.

4.2. Must have a High school Diploma or GED

4.3. Community college is supported by state or local revenues.

5. 4 year College and Universities- Tend to be larger schools and have more students in a class. Offer bachelor degrees and may also offer programs to get master's degree, doctorate, or professional degree.

5.1. ACT or SAT are required for most colleges. It is a test that test you on math, science, English and social studies.

5.2. Bachelor Degree- Offered by 4 year colleges and is undergraduate degree.

5.3. Associate's Degree- At least 2 years or less than 4 years of college. Designed for kids that transfer to senior college.
