How does your media product represent particular social groups? af Mind Map: How does your media product represent particular social groups?

1. Cannibals

1.1. Cannibals follow conventions by being rabid due to surviving wasteland. They represent a type of person who has to resort to eating anything they can find and being rabid.

1.2. One of the cannibals is both female and gothic, representing people who live a gothic lifestyle and giving the film a female character at the start.

2. Protagonists

2.1. We followed the convention of having strong, hardened characters due to surviving a post-apocalyptic wasteland. This appears in many films, such as I Am Legend and The Road, and appeals to the majority of the post-apocalyptic audience. The clothing suits the darker characters, too, with leather being a common piece of clothing worn by darker characters.

2.2. The protagonists appeal to younger audiences as they enjoy darker characters and often strive to be like them. They're also young, representing the young adult audience to form a connection with the viewers.

2.3. The protagonists are also male, possibly representing the majority of the audience, according to my research before filming the opening.
