1.1. My first thought was technology is used by electricity, so phones, computers, lamps, stoves, and just mainly appliances and fixtures.
1.2. I think technology is a device where you can gather any information about the world. People can use technology to compile evidence about a person, it can be used for research purposes, it can be a way of communicating to someone across the seas, and many other uses.
1.3. I also think technology is based off coding, I think of coding like its technology’s thoughts and process.
2. Thoughts about Technology After
2.1. Now that I have read through the modules, I have a better understanding that technology is not just about devices that run on electricity. Technology can be any man-made object that helps make our lives easier and more efficient.
2.2. My idea has changed when I watched the video called What is Technology. The person brought up the question whether a table or chair is technology (which it is). He took a definition out of a dictionary stating, “technologies are things created by humans that can make our lives easier or solve problems” (Anonymous, 2019). So, a table and a chair does make our lives easier to be able to do our daily tasks. For one, being able to sit and eat dinner in the comfort of our environment or two, what we are doing right now, sitting comfortably in our chairs writing our discussion boards. Therefore, technology is not only defined as devices being motored by electricity but can also be devices or objects that help us complete daily tasks.

4. Conclusion
4.1. Technology is mainly anything man made that helps us complete our daily activities, it's not just a device that runs on electricity. Technology is always developing everyday as we speak because it helps us grow as a society. We can see that new technology has a positive outcome however, we should be using it wisely.
5. Why Do We Need New Technology?
5.1. We need new technology because it helps us learn, connect, and expand.
5.2. a. In the video called The history of technology in education, viewers see the development of new technology; in the 1700s chalk boards were invented and in the 2000s smart boards were invented (SMARTEduEMEA, 2011). This shows that over the years, new technology has been progressing positively to encourage interactive learning for students.
5.3. b. Another example can be taken from a commercial called Apple Christmas Commercial 2019 | Apple Christmas Ad 2019, as we watch the video, we can see that these two girls are creating a Christmas gift to their grandpa. They put together a family video on their Apple iPad to cheer up their grandpa since their grandma has passed away (Cool Commercials, 2019). This shows that new technology is a great way to connect with loved ones, it can bring remembrance or good memories on past times through pictures, videos, and slideshows.
5.4. c. In the TED talk with Kevin Kelly, he said, “technology is going to contradict itself because it can be used selfishly or generously” (TED 2010). i. If we take toilet paper rolls as an example of “new technology,” it’s generously used in every household, depending on how many toilet paper bundles is utilized throughout the week. However, we can say that in the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, society was selfishly storing toilet paper for who knows why. Then, this toilet paper crisis became a great feud between one another. ii. Phones is another example of fairly new technology. A person can use their phone to show off their Lamborghini on Instagram (selfish act) or a person can use their phone to reach out to someone who has a mental issue (generous act).
5.5. So, as we consider new technology, I think society needs to be aware on how we use it or else it could take great damage in our lives. It’s like the saying, too much or too little of something isn’t always necessarily good.
