1. buses connections that carry data

1.1. control unit does all the work

1.2. ALU does the calculations

1.2.1. Execute sends signals to the ALU

1.2.1.1. save sends the result from ALU to the RAM

1.3. Clock sends instructions to the ALU

2. memory holds instructions and data of the system

2.1. secondary storage keeps the info even thought the computer is turned off

2.2. RAM when the lights are off the computer loses its information if the computer has a lot of RAM then all the data and instruction will fit and if it does not have much RAM the computer will be slow.

2.2.1. fetch gives instructions to RAM

2.2.1.1. word size is the amout of data a computer can fetch and use in one cycle

2.2.2. decode gives info in a binary code

3. cache size is a samll amout of memory and the bigger it is data and instuctions will be quicker
