1. content validity - visual inspection of test, does it measure what needs to be measured? does it match instructional objectives? (minimum requirement)
2. criterion-related validity- correlations with external critera. It can be expressed numerically as a correlation coefficient.
2.1. predictive validity- two measures are taken. A time interval between measures. Can help make predictions about an individual's performance in the future.
2.2. concurrent validity- how a measure correlates with another measure. Two measures are taken at the same time
3. Validity- The test measures what it is supposed to measure
4. Reliability- consistency in measure
5. Three methods to measure reliability
5.1. test-retest method - give a test and then give it again (later date). correlate scores, then draw conclusions based on correlations.
5.2. Alternate forms method - make equivalent but different versions of the test and give to the same group, then correlate the scores.
5.3. internal consistency method - assume that learners that answer a question a certain way are likely to answer other questions the same way.
