1. Atticus isn't just a role model for his children but the whole of Maycomb. People respected him with great gratitude. He was an intelligent person and would stand for what is right in the town. 2. At the beginning of the novel Atticus isn’t considered so much of a hero towards his children. Jem and Scout were embarrassed by him because he wasn’t like other fathers. He didn’t fish or hunt or acted as more a “manly figure”. But through out the novel Jem and Scout learned more about their father and his motivation to do whats right.

3. Atticus acts as a Judge in his household. He will listen to both sides of Jem and Scout to know whats should be right and wrong.
