1. All the dogs must be protected from disease and other illnesses for example kennel cough
2. A document must be kept about all the dogs that you are keeping in the kennels
3. Dog walkers will need to know if the dog they are in charge of can mix with other dogs. This will give them an idea of how many dogs they can take out at a time
4. If dog walkers enter any farms were there are sheep and cattle the farmer has a right to shoot the dog if it is putting his animals under stress. This means if you have a dog with you that is likely to chase the livestock should be kept on a lead at all times.
5. Kennel owners should do as much as they can t keep the dog calm, whilst they are in there care. This could mean giving dogs affection, toys and comfy environments.
6. Animals must be kept in a suitable accommodation
7. They must be provided with the correct amount of food and water
8. Dog walkers should follow the dog control order, which states that all dangerous dogs should be kept on a lead with a muzzle. Also if the dog fouls it must be cleaned up and binned.
9. Workers should not lift a dog with a high weight on their own as it can cause injury. They should get help or use tables etc to move them.
10. In a kennel the dogs should not be facing each other as it can stress them out.
