1. Type of Structure
1.1. Solid
1.1.1. It is a solid structure because.it has solid beams and pillars underneath into the ocean to support weight.
1.2. Frame
1.2.1. This seven mile bridge is a frame structure because this bridge contains trusses and beams to support weights. Additionally, just like all frame structures the inside is hollow.
2. Center of Gravity
2.1. The center of gravity or COG is on the middle part of the bridge. We know this because it has supports on the side and meaning that the COG shifts to the middle but, it will depend on the weight and amount of cars on the bridge.
3. Internal Forces
3.1. Tension
3.1.1. In the summer days the roads expand due to the heat so in summer the roads will expand and in the winter they will shrink. Going back and forth the roads will soon start to expand.
3.2. Compression
3.2.1. On the bridges there are trusses which support the bridge. These trusses supporting the weight will face compression.
3.3. Torsion
3.3.1. Materials on the bridge may face shear due to materials mixed with the climate. Builders will need to reduce it.
3.4. Shear
3.4.1. In winter days as explained above the roads will shrink due to cold climates and the bridge will respond by being smaller.
