1. Sensoineural hearing loss: when there is damage to the inner ear (cochlea), or to the nerve pathways from the inner ear to the brain. usally cant be fixed

2. three basic types of hearing loss: conductive hearing loss, sensorineural hearing loss, and mixed hearing loss.

2.1. Conductive hearing loss:sound is not conducted efficiently through the outer ear canal to the eardrum, can be corrected

2.2. Mixed hearing loss:may be damage in the outer or middle ear and in the inner ear (cochlea) or auditory nerve.

6. Ways to accommodate student in the class room

6.1. Interpreter

6.2. Have student sit in a area where they can see the whole class and easily see who is talking

6.3. have a portable mircophone

6.4. Repeat students answers when in class disscussions

7. Ways to identify if student may be having issuses hearing

7.1. After giving direction student will look around and try to figure out what to do by watching others

7.2. May not respond to name being called or when spoken to with loud noises around
