1. Buddhism
1.1. Developed out of Hinduism about 2500 years ago.
1.2. Siddartha Guatama is the founder of Buddhism.He is the Buddha, or The Enlightened One.

1.4. The Eightfold Path to Enlightenment is a way Buddhists believe they can escape the cycle of reincarnation.
1.5. Nirvana is a state of blessed happiness and peace that is achieved after giving up desires.
1.6. Sutras are the teachings of Buddha.
1.7. They believe in reincarnation, but reject the Caste System.
1.8. There are 2 divisions of Buddhism: Theravada and Mahayana.
1.9. Temples and Monasteries are where they meditate and study Buddhist principles.
1.10. Today Buddhism is mostly practiced in Eastern and South Eastern Asia.
2. Islam
2.1. The founder of Islam was Mohammed.
2.2. More than 1 billion people are Islamic.
2.3. People of Mecca forced Mohammed and his people out of Mecca.
2.4. Mecca is the center of the Islam.
2.5. The 5-pillars: Shahed
2.6. Muslims care for poor and needy.
2.7. During a time period, they do not eat to control their hunger and anger.
2.8. Ka'Bah is a sacred place for Muslims to go to.
2.9. Muslim treat each other equally.
2.10. Prayers are very important to Muslims.
2.11. Before they pray, they wash their hands in a Wudu.
3. Christianity
3.1. Jesus was born about 2000 years ago.
3.2. Jesus believed in only 1 God.
3.3. Jesus was crucified by the Romans becuase he was gaining religious power.
3.4. Catholic and Protestants are the 2 groups of Christians.
3.5. Most protestant churches are lead by Pastors or Ministers.
3.6. The 3 God heads are, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
3.7. We believe that Jesus died on the cross to take away our sins. He also rose again.
3.8. The sacred writing is The Bible
3.9. Many churches have statues of Jesus.
3.10. The Holy communion celebrates Jesus' death.
4. Hinduism
4.1. More than 80% of people in India are Hindus.
4.2. All Rivers are sacred in Hinduism.
4.3. One of the oldest Religions.
4.4. They believe temples are the living places of gods.
4.5. Gahndi was a famous religious leader.
4.6. There are many holidays in Hindisim.
4.7. All Hindus use Sanskrit.
4.8. Most animals, like Cows, are Sacred .
4.9. There is a Caste system, which is a social ranking in Society.
4.10. Karma is the good or bad created by a person's actions.
5. Judaism
5.1. There are about 14 million Jews in the world.
5.2. Jews have suffered many things since it was founded.
5.3. The Torah is a book that has instructions from God.
5.4. Temples and synagogues are where Jews worship.
5.5. The forefather of Jews was Abraham.
5.6. There are 3 main groups of Jews in the U.S.
5.7. Judaism is a monotheism- a belief in a single God.
5.8. The Ten Commandments is a established moral codes from God.
5.9. Bat Mitzvah and Bar Mitzvah are very important for kids become of age.
5.10. The Passover is a very important time for Jews.
