HQ Connect allows students to upload a resume and search for any jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities. If a student wants work for a specific employer, they can go under the "employers" section to search for the company of their choice. We strongly encourage students to upload their resume under the "document" sections. This way employers can search up your profile and see your resume. There is also a "resources" section on HQ Connect, where students can get career advice like, writing a winning resume, how to ace an interview, what employers want and who is hiring. HQ Connect is just another tool here at Baker that provides students with opportunities they need to become successful in the workplace.

4. Reflection

4.1. As part of this assignment I decided to join a professional group called, NASP or National Association of Sales Professionals. NASP is the largest online community of assessed, certified and non-certified sales professionals in the world, offering a limitless network for career exposure, value exchange and expertise. Me being a member NASP member I am a part of a global community of influential people. I have a platform to create a personal network of like-minded professionals who seek to grow personally, expand my influence base, maximize my career opportunities and exchange best practices. I know we were debating on whether or not that we were going to do this assignment but I am so glad we did because I am now part of a business organization. Never in my life did I think I would ever be part of one. I believe that by being part of NASP, I believe a group like this allows mw to take advantage of student leadership opportunities that can help sharpen the skills I’ll need to advance my business career. I just started an internship with Aflac, and I believe this will help me develop the skills I need to be a great sales rep in Aflac. When it comes to my online activity, I would say my presence is big. I have had a LinkedIn for about two years. My LinkedIn account is well organized, includes a professional photo, and is appropriate for all work places. Under the “summary” section I uploaded my polished resume. Under experience I filled out my 3 prior job experiences. Under courses I filled out all my business related courses I have taken. Under skills $ Endorsements, I filled out all my skills that were on my resume. Under education I filled out the years I will be attending and my field of study. I also have two job board accounts with Monster, and Indeed which are similar to LinkedIn. Here too I uploaded my resume and professional photo so employers can see both of those if I end up looking for a job on Monster or Indeed. I got in contact through email with Rita Fullmer, who is the Work Experience Coordinator. “HQ Connect is all about Baker students. HQ Connect provides students with the opportunity to create an account and fill out a personal, academic and work experience profile. Networking is about making connections and building enduring, mutually beneficial relationships. I don’t really think its about who you know, but who knows you. By building personal relationships, it will enable me to stand out. Networking provides the most helpful, most capable and most long-term method to build relationships.
