Curriculum Expectation “demonstrating an awareness and understanding of assessment for, as, and of learning in writing at junior level” da Mind Map: Curriculum Expectation “demonstrating an awareness and understanding of assessment for, as, and of learning in writing at junior level”

1. Assessment as Learning

1.1. Checklists – using the checklist based on success criteria to later conference with the student allows the student to see how to improve and later be able to assess themselves. Explain to students how using the checklist we can know what we are doing well and areas for improvement and next steps.

1.2. Developing supported self and peer assessment, in which pairs or small groups of children determine what they know and can do, what they still find challenging and the next steps for them.

2. Assessment of Learning

2.1. Create rubrics that go along with your success criteria

2.2. final product

3. Assessment for Learning

3.1. Identifying the gap

3.1.1. When I reflect on how I can currently close the gap of my students learning, I can now factor identifying learning goals and criteria with my students to help them get to where they need to be prior to teaching a unit

3.2. Feedback

3.2.1. This should be done constructively and timely to advance students learning

3.2.1.1. What this will look like in my classroom is having my anecdotal notes with my units already planned. Given time constraints this might be a challenge so I think as teacher we need to be realistic about how much we can and factor in time spans

3.3. Strategies

3.3.1. Quick write are practical and highly effective. This can be done pre assessment tool. having the students write 1 - 3 minute quick write on a topic or big can be revealing

4. Before assessing students

4.1. What is the teaching context for the observation? (what part of learning cycle?)  How will I create a positive and supportive learning climate?  What am I looking for exactly? When will I start? How long will I observe?  What do I communicate to students beforehand? (or not?)  How will I record my observations in an efficient manner? (ticks, symbols, letters?)

4.1.1. During

4.1.1.1.  Will I interact with my students during the observation? If so, how and when?  Will any feedback be provided during the observation? If so, how and when?  How will technology be used to assist me in the observation? Describe the precise use.

4.1.1.1.1. After
