Differentiated instruction for Basketball unit

1. 12 students in the middle tier

1.1. Partnering with other middle tier students to pass and shoot drills

1.2. Setting up a scrimmage with the students of a similar level

1.3. Parting them up with lower-level students as well as higher level

1.4. Having their time drills be the standard to meet

1.5. Have them lead a game or potential come up with a game

2. 5 Limited knowledge students

2.1. Provide them more time to get through the drills

2.2. Limit the amount of drills that they are expected to perform throughout the unit

2.3. Not have them filled out the essay question so they can focus more time on the other questions

2.4. Providing more time during assessment

2.5. Have them do partner work with higher-level students both in the middle and upper tears

2.6. Allow them to watch videos of other students performing passing, dribbling and shooting skills

3. 5 most prepared students

3.1. Partner passing with low level students

3.2. Small scrimmage with higher-level students

3.3. Shorter time periods to complete activities

3.4. Setting new time goes for dribbling up-and-down court

3.5. Allowing them to lead a game for the rest of the class

3.6. Having them come up with new skills to develop during the basketball unit beyond just those in my curriculum
