Validity Door Mind Map: Validity

1. Content Validity Evidence - inspecting test questions to see whether they correspond to what the user decides should be covered by the test. It helps make sure the test questions cover the material that was covered in the instructional curriculum.

2. Predictive validity evidence - uses test scores to predict future performance. This validity is useful when placing students in classes. Students who have higher test scores are placed in advanced classes so they can excel. Also, this type of validity is used in college to place students in first or second level courses through placement tests.

3. Concurrent criterion-related validity- evidence is used to find a relationship between test scores and the outcomes. For example, SAT scores are used to determine if students will be successful in college. The outcome of SAT scores would be the student's first year grades at college.

4. Construct validity evidence - measures exactly what the test is supposed to measure. For example, a math test is constructed only to measure math skills and no other skills are measured.
