1. Assessing Students

1.1. Principals’ use data to guide school improvement strategies, determine school rankings, and factor in school accreditation. Schools use data to determine how well they are doing compared to other schools and the strategies they will implement for improvement. Schools get data from formative, interim (benchmark), and summative assessments.

2. Behavioral Issues

2.1. 5.5% suspension rate, mostly from students bringing weapons on campus. On average, each principal receives about 200 referrals yearly.

2.2. The district should invest in an ISI teacher for less disruptions and disciplining in the classroom.

3.1. Chronic Absentee is currently in the Red with 25.5% of the students chronically absent. This has recently increased by 10.9%. The subgroups that are in Red are African Americans with 20.3%, students with disabilities with 31.8%, Hispanics with 29.6%, Homeless 36.2%, and Socioeconomically dIsadvantaged with 25.4% chronically absent.

4. Supplies, Resources, and Personnel

4.1. New textbooks, Chromebooks, Paper, pencils, Resource for additional support, and school specialists. After school and Saturday tutoring.

4.2. interim assessment “i-ready,” students are currently 77.3 points below standard in ELA and 89 points below standard in Math.

5. Additional Resources Needed for Student Achievement

5.1. The district would benefit from Tutoring, Chromebooks, Professional Development, In School Intervention, and Resource room for intervention.

5.2. Total Cost $225,000

6. Low Socioeconomics

6.1. Title 1 school with a lot of diversity from ethnicity, demographics, and differentiated classes.

6.2. Students don't have enough resources and supplies as those from students from higher socioeconomic families.

6.3. 97% of the students qualify for free lunch making it acceptable for the whole school to be on the free lunch program.

6.4. Students would benefit with additional supplies and resources to reach academic goals.
