9.1. I believe that the most important event to French Nationalism has to be Napoleon's rise to power. If Napoleon had never come to power, France would have remained in a state of uncertainty and chaos.

16.2. Napoleon expanded his empire by conquering other territories. Concerns about his expansion lead to wars with the coalitions of Austria, Prussia, Great Britain, and Russia. These wars were an attempt to control Napoleon's growing expansion.

17.2. He was crowned the emperor of France after his success in reforming France and expanding French influence throughout the country had made him very popular with the people. They voted him as the "Consul for Life", in which he used the power to give himself the power of an emperor. People questioned his appointment as the Consul for Life and after he received 3 509 000 out of a total 3 580 000, the constitution was rewritten, thus making France an empire once again.
