1. Relate to Current Event

1.1. I believe that breaking the color barrier by Jackie Robinson relates to President Barack Obama. Jackie Robinson was the first black man who broke the color barrier when he played in the Dodgers League. This event changed in the history of the United States. Also, Barack Obama was elected to be the president of the U.S. Also, this event changed the history of America. Both these events happen for the first time. Jackie were a perfect player because of that he was chosen to play in the Dodgers league. Barack Obama is an intelligent politician because of that he is elected to be the President of the United States. That means they were not chosen because they are black. 3.1. According to the author in page 60 and 61, there are a lot of children admire Jackie Robinson and choose a national day to know and discover more about him. Also, people hang up Jackie's number in walls to express how Jackie presented efforts to face segregation. Moreover, there are plenty of important things that carry Jackie's name around the United States. Also, there is a foundation that carry Jackie's name. This foundation helps many of American students to be participated in their life. Also, this foundation learns people the best way to get success.

4. Summary (what happened between Jackie and Branch )

4.1. There was an important event that happened between Jackie Robinson and Branch Rickey. This event changed the history of baseball in the United States. Branch had an idea in his mind to apply it in the Dodgers leagues. He wanted to employ players from Negro League teams to play in the Dodgers league. First, he sent his scouts to explore black baseball players in the Negro League. After that, Branch had many names about good black baseball players. Then, he selected Jackie Robinson to play in the Dodgers League because Branch knew Jackie was a great player. Branch sat with Jackie to talk about playing to the Dodgers. Branch knew that Jackie had a variable mood. So, he wanted Jackie Robinson to control his temper because Branch thought that something would happen if Jackie couldn’t keep his anger especially when he faced jeers from fans and players . Also, the situation that was between white people and black people. At the end, Jackie accepted Branch’s condition.

5. Cause and Effect

5.1. The relationship between Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee was very important especially to Jackie Robinson. This relationship was created when the Dodgers played in Cincinnati in 1947. Fan's yelling in the field caused this relationship between Pee and Jackie. Pee Wee supported Jackie when the fans started yelling at him. This event made Jackie Robinson more stronger to face the segregation. Also, this event made Jackie played well in that season. According to the author in page 43, at the same year that Pee Wee supported Jackie in the field Jackie Robinson achieved Rookie of the year award. That means Jackie trusted himself and ignored white people jeers.

6. The author's perspective

6.1. Sharon Robinson's perspective is unique because she wrote a lot of her father memories inside and outside the field. According to Sharon in page 6, she mentioned an event that happened between her and her father inside home. When she brought tea to him. Because her father loved her, he said you are my sugar for my tea. Also, she mentioned letters that Jackie Robinson sent to his wife in page 32. That means when someone write about Jackie, he or she can't mention lots of things as Sharon mentioned especially the private things.
