Apollo and Daphne

1. Apollo saw the Nymph Daphne and immediately fell in love.

2. Daphne did not return his love, so she ran.

3. Apollo chased after her.

4. Daphne asked her father, Peneus, for help to escape Apollo.

5. Daphne's father turned her into a laurel tree.

6. Apollo was sad, and gave Daphne the gift of eternal life. He broke a branch off and wore a crown of laurels in honor of her.
