1. IN CLASS

1.1. RILEY VISIT

1.1.1. This experience changed my thinking when it comes to teachers. I have always thought of a teacher as a traditional in classroom kind of profession. This experience completely changed the way I look at educators.

1.1.1.1. Something that I was able to notice immediately was how much everyone at Riley enjoyed the work they were doing. I consider teaching at Riley to be a tough job, based on the emotional factor alone, but everyone was so upbeat and positive. I want to make sure that I apply this to whatever work I do in the future.

1.2. NORA ELEMENTARY

1.2.1. The moment I walked in Nora Elementary I noticed the positive energy. It seemed as if everyone was so happy to be at school. I hope that I work in an atmosphere like that upon graduation.

1.2.1.1. In all of my life, I don't think I have ever seen someone enjoy their job more than Ms. Allison. While I was observing her teach, I could easily see the joy on her face. It was evident that she loved what she was doing. I hope that someday I will be able to feel the same way while I work.

1.3. JORDAN GARRETT

1.3.1. I feel as if Jordan is one of those people that will be successful at whatever she does. You can tell how much she cares about her work. She mentioned how she is always researching new ideas for implementing technology in the classroom. In my high school days, technology was not a huge factor. Now, for my brother Jackson, each student is given a tablet and technology is being implemented in every classroom.

1.3.1.1. Throughout not only our experience with Jordan, but with our entire class, I have learned how valuable technology can be in an educational setting. I plan on implementing as much technology as I possibly can in my future career.

1.4. SARA WUELLNER

1.4.1. Our experience with Mrs. Wuellner was one of my favorites. Zionsville West is an absolutely beautiful school. My middle school looked pretty rough compared to Zionsville West. The atmosphere there made it seem like we weren't even at a school. Everyone was so upbeat and positive. Mrs. Wuellner especially.

1.4.1.1. I also really enjoyed actually being able to interact with the kids. It was evident that they knew what needed to be done, but still had a good amount of freedom as well. The kids respected Mrs. Wuellner and she respected them. Respect is a huge key for me. I have learned the value of respect from my family throughout my life, so I want to make sure this is an important factor in my future profession.

2. PRIOR TO CLASS

2.1. Family

2.1.1. My family is the most important thing in my life. Each one of them provides absolutely fantastic examples of what a great person should be. They are the hardest working people I have ever met. They are also the most loyal people I have ever met.

2.1.1.1. My Grandfather Mike is one of the most important people in my life. He is a Vietnam Veteran. He returned from Vietnam and started a small business that still exists today. My Dad runs it now, and my Mom works at Interior Walls as well. My Grandparents grew up on a farm, so the idea of hard work is ingrained in them. My Grandfather has given me more great advice then I could have ever imagined. I feel as if he has a story or some type of experience in nearly every situation. He is a fantastic family man, and I look up to him more than anyone.

2.1.1.1.1. In conclusion, I have learned so much from my family. I have learned what a hard days work is. I have learned what it means to be loyal, and how family will always be by your side. I want to apply this hard-working idea to my future career. Also, I want to be extremely loyal to my customers, and future business partners.

2.2. Friends

2.3. I am very fortunate to have some of the best friends anyone could ask for. I have learned how to have fun and enjoy myself. They have proved how generous people can be as well. I want to apply this to my profession. I want to make the environment in which I work as fun as possible. I also want to make sure that I can help someone if they need assistance. I think that is what life is all about. Helping others makes me feel better, so I plan to do that in the future.

2.4. Baseball

2.4.1. I have been fortunate enough to play on some great baseball teams under some great coaches. I have also played with some absolutely fantastic teammates. Baseball has taught me more about myself then I could ever imagine.

2.4.2. I owe so much to my coaches over the years. Each and every one of them has taught me something different. The most important lesson that I have been taught is to believe in myself at all times. I think this is absolutely critical as a professional.

3. ENGAGEMENT CONNECTION

3.1. Demonstrates the ability to effectively collaborate with others.

3.1.1. Throughout class, we have had so many opportunities to work with a partner on things. Also, for almost every meaning making we have done, we had small group discussion. Based on all of the activities in class, I have most certainly improved in a group setting.

3.2. Shows caring, concern, and patience.

3.2.1. Good things take time. That is something that has taken me a long time to understand. I have learned that with patience and hard work, good things will happen.
