1.1. Students will be asked to write a worksheet highlighting their main ideas and what they deem as important.

1.2. Competitively, students will be asked to gain an opinion on the subject.

1.3. The Worksheet can be written during class and can be utilized to take notes as well.

2. The Standard

2.1. Cite strong and textual evidence to support common themes discussed in class.

2.2. Objective: support an opinion of Civil Rights Leaders in the United States.

2.3. Objective 2: clearly deliver textual evidence of the opinions of these individuals via written paper.

3. The Big Idea

3.1. :Students will be able to analyze and synthesize information and then in return learn to cite information in certain given primary sources.

3.2. Students may need extra help in this given assignment, particularly with knowing how to manipulate the text for their benefit.

3.3. Depending on the school and prior resources, some students may not have the ability to create an outline, thesis or main points in general.
