2. Internet Related

2.1. Internet- The Internet is the global system of interconnected computer networks that use the Internet protocol suite to link devices worldwide.

2.2. Intranet- An intranet is a private network accessible only to an organization's staff.

2.3. URL- Uniform Resource Locator and is an address to a resource on the Internet.

2.4. HTTP- Stands for "HyperText Transfer Protocol." This is the protocol used to transfer data over the World Wide Web.

2.5. HTML- Stands for "Hyper-Text Markup Language." This is the language that Web pages are written in.

2.6. Web Page- A hypertext document connected to the World Wide Web.

2.7. Web Server- A Web server is a program that uses HTTP to serve the files that form Web pages to users, in response to their requests, which are forwarded by their computers' HTTP clients.

2.8. Web Browser- Is an application used for retrieving, presenting, and traversing resources on the world wide web.

2.9. Search Engine- Searches for information on the world wide web.

4. Networking / Communications

4.1. Ethernet

4.1.1. A system for connecting a number of computer systems to form a local area network, with protocols to control the passing of information and to avoid simultaneous transmission by two or more systems.

4.2. Wifi

4.2.1. A facility allowing computers, smartphones, or other devices to connect to the Internet or communicate with one another wirelessly within a particular area.

4.3. Blue Tooth

4.3.1. A standard for the short-range wireless interconnection of mobile phones, computers, and other electronic devices.

4.4. Fibreoptic

4.4.1. Optical fibers are used most often as a means to transmit light between the two ends of the fiber and find wide usage in fiber-optic communications.

4.5. LAN

4.5.1. Local Area Network, better for networks that have a smaller span of space.

4.6. WAN

4.6.1. A Wide Area Network, better for lager, public areas.

4.7. ADSL

4.7.1. A faster internet connection over copper wires.

4.8. Broadband

4.8.1. High transmission technique using a wide range of frequencies, it enables a larger amount of messages to be sent, meaning the connection is faster.

4.9. Modem

4.9.1. The module that outputs an internet signal and connection.

4.10. Peer-to-Peer

4.10.1. Peer-to-peer (P2P) computing or networking is a distributed application architecture that partitions tasks or work loads between peers. Peers are equally privileged, equipotent participants in the application. They are said to form a peer-to-peer network of nodes.
