‘Mobile learning; Handheld learning?’ What do we mean?

1. Chat captures perishable spoken language forms?
1.1. creating contexts for learning...twas ever thus?
2. Teaching the mobile learner
2.1. right to use device comes with responsibility to use it appropriately
2.2. Pedagogy that scaffolds learner agency
2.3. Need to be wi-fi aware
2.4. Confident with a range of devices
2.5. learning status of device needs to be recognised by both teachers and learners above its negative (sometimes) social status
2.6. Has anyone considered how disabled (SEN) learners can utilise mobile / handheld learning
3. Terminology wise...aren't they just learners that happen to be using mobile devices? Or is there a special disposition? Yes.
3.1. become 'person plus' (Perkins, 1993?)
3.2. user generated context and content
3.3. opportunities for learner agency and choice
3.4. Isn't it more about connectivity whilst learning, learning in the world in context rather than learning and searching for a context in conventional terms? Absolutely, the learner is interacting with both real and virtual contexts.
