2. Mission

2.1. Our mission is to empower individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and their families, to fully participate in their communities.

3. Addressing equity, inclusion and awareness of cultural diversity

3.1. The Centre's programs and services are driven by person-centred philosophy with emphasis on skill-building using evidence-based clinical practices and approaches that recognize the unique needs and strengths of an individual with an ASD

3.2. Its staff is comprised of qualified professionals with diverse skills, expertise and backgrounds that also reflect the diversity of the individuals and families that the Centre serves.

3.3. Geneva Centre for Autism created the Training Institute in 1991 to promote community awareness and education on ASD. They believe that when communities understand Autism Spectrum Disorders and their impact on individuals and their families can they fully recognize the need for appropriate accommodations and support.

4. Services

4.1. For Children

4.1.1. Geneva Centre for Autism develops and delivers a wide range of innovative services that meet the unique needs of children on the Autism spectrum. These services are provided by a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychologists, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists and behavioural therapists.

4.2. For Youth and Adults

4.2.1. Transitioning Youth (Ages 13-18): Programs for transitionally aged youth focus on providing participants with the pre-vocational skills, social skills, and life skills necessary to navigate the transition into adulthood.. Transitioning Adults (Ages 18+): Programs for transitionally aged adults focus on providing participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the transition into the workplace and independent living. Adults (Ages 18+): Programs for adults focus on providing participants with a well-rounded set of skills needed to facilitate independence in the community, as well as ensure success in the workplace and school environment

4.3. For Parents/Caregivers

4.3.1. The Social Work team provides ongoing support to families by helping families to navigate services and connect to resources, facilitating groups and workshops for parents and caregivers, and providing support and advocacy.

5. Fun for the whole family!

5.1. Movie Night: 8 times each year, the Centre hosts a private showing of a recent feature film for individuals with Asperger Syndrome and their families and friends.
