1.1. Proper hippocampus development needed to prevent these issues
2. Neonate born from mother with iron deficiency can experience epigenetic changes, altering chromatin structure & gene expression of BDNF.
3. Maternal iron deficiency in late pregnancy and pospartum effects the neonate
4. BDFN - neurotrophic factor important in the process of learning, memory, and behavior.
4.1. Neonate's hippocampus needs adequate iron for: dendritoegnesis, synaptogenesis, neurogenesis
5. Iron deficiency is very common among women (30%)
