1.1.2.1. Roger fails to get the purse, lady snatches it back.

1.1.2.1.1. "Then she reached down, picked the boy up by his shirt front and shook him till his teeth rattled"(pg.72)

1.1.3.1. At Mrs. Jones house, Roger has the chance to escape when the front door was open, but instead chooses to stay for the lesson that Mrs.Jones had to give afterwards. The reason he tried to steal the purse was because of the blue suede shoes.

1.1.3.1.1. The boy turned around wondering what was next. The door was open. He could make a run for it down the hall. He could run, run, run, run! (pg.74)

1.1.4.1. Lady takes Roger home, feeds him, cares for him, and tells him not to do this again.

2. Both of these Short Stories are very similar and have things that are incredibly common with each other.

2.1.1. the plot is basically the same because both involve a boy who is poor and decides stealing is a better idea than asking for some food.

2.2.1. The characters a basically the same as well: with there being two main characters.

2.3. Moral

2.3.1. the moral of the story is similar too; not to steal and rather ask.

2.4. Theme

2.4.1. The theme of the story is also very similar: kindness and understanding. Both Mrs. Jones and Kate were calm and understanding about the situation. Instead of assuming anything, they gave them a talk which made them understand.
