1.1. Definition: An assessment to end a unit or term. This type of assessment is to see what the students know during a specific time period.

1.1.1. Examples: standardized testing, end of unit project.

2. 4. Performance

2.1. Definition: A type of assessment based on the student's ability to apply the skills and knowledge from a lesson or unit of study.

2.1.1. Examples: group project, journal entries to show learning, observation and scaffolding.

3. 5. Diagnostic

3.1. Definition: A form of assessment that identifies what the students strengths, weaknesses, and prior knowledge or skills are in order to adjust and guide instruction.

3.1.1. Examples: KWL chart, word cloud, discussion, brain dump.

4. Assessments can also be helpful to students. They can receive feedback that will help them understand exactly how to get to where they want to be and grow as a learner.

6.1. Definition: An assessment that allows teachers to monitor student comprehension, learning needs, and academic progress.

6.1.1. Examples: Informal- online notebooks. Formal- quiz or test

7. 2. Interim/ Benchmark

7.1. Definition: A type of assessment that is used to identify where a student is in their learning process and if that student is on track for their grade level.

7.1.1. Examples: end of six-weeks test, formal writing assignment

8. Assessments allow teachers to get useful data that can be used to determine what the student understands already and what they need help to work on.

9.2. Guiding Questions

9.2.1. How is our main character in the story an entrepreneur?

9.2.2. How are our producer and consumer in the story alike and different?

9.3. Closing Questions

9.3.1. What were some of the things that Arthur could have done differently to make his business successful?

9.3.2. If you were able to start your own business what would it be and why? Justify your answer with facts.

9.3.3. Imagine if you were able to start your own business. What would you do to start your business? Think about what Arthur did to start his business.
