1.1. An assessment used to get data on students academic achievement.

1.2. EX: Benchmarks, STAAR

2. Performance

2.1. These assessment will be interesting to the student while also connecting to the objective being taught.

2.2. EX: Group projects,Essay question

3. Diagnostic

3.1. A pre assessment that helps the teacher know about the student. It lets them see their strengths and weaknesses.

3.2. Fist to five check,Pre assessment or pre quiz.

4. Formative

4.1. EX: Exit ticket,Graphic organizer

4.2. Way to informal or formally assess your students to know how you need to alter you teaching. This is how we know what the students took from the lesson.

5. Benchmark

5.1. An assessment given throughout the school year to give the student,teachers and administrators data.

5.2. EX:ELAR Benchmark, Math Benchmark

6. Area and Perimeter

6.1. Opening- 1. If we were to take out the length given from perimeter how would you be able to find it? 2. What type of shapes do we use while finding area and perimeter? what type do we not use and why?

6.2. Guided question: 1. Can you take the perimeter and create a different question to ask your peers. 2. Is there a time in which our perimeter and area will ever be the same? why or why not?

6.3. Closing: 1. Where is time in which you would need to find the perimeter of something in the real world? Why do we need to know area for the future?
