1.2.5. These sites also act as application platforms.

1.2.6. Social networking may even release a person from prison.

1.3. Cons

1.3.1. A drawback of social networking is it makes identity theft easier.

1.3.2. People are tricked by scammers to download malicious software (malware) using social networking sites.

1.3.3. Social networking users may be overwhelmed by the updates and get addicted simultaneously.

2.1. We agree with the point that social networking sites let users to make connections with other people.

2.2. Reason

2.2.1. People are able to keep in touch with their friends or relatives despite of the long distance.

2.2.2. They can be constantly updated with others' current situations depending how active they are.

2.3. So, this proves that there are many active users in social networking sites keeping in touch with each other.

3.1. We disagree with the point that people can network professionally by advertising the vacancy in his profile.

3.2. Reason

3.2.1. People nowadays are lack of trust.

3.2.2. They do not believe in others easily, especially on social networking sites.

3.2.3. Moreover, there are a lot of job scams cases happened.

3.2.4. This makes getting a job online harder.

3.3. Evidence

3.3.1. 'Police received 46 online scam cases targeting job seekers in the first quarter of the year, up from 18 cases during the same period last year, involving HK$3.6 million in financial losses, compared with HK$1.7 million year-on-year.' (Mok, 2018)

4.1. We agree on the point that social networking is making identity theft easier.

4.2. Reason

4.2.1. People have to share some information about themselves in order to create to profile on social networking sites.

4.2.2. This causes their information to be exposed in the public. Identity thief will use the information illegally apply for financial services.

4.2.3. This will destroy the users' credit rating.

4.3. Evidence

4.3.1. 'Kam, a company executive in her 30s, had fallen victim to an identity thief who created a duplicate Facebook account with her name and profile photo.' (Yuen, 2017)

4.3.2. 'In some cases, identity thieves are even able to assume an unsuspecting person’s identity entirely, obtaining identification bearing their name and often committing crimes “as that person.”' (Papadimitriou, 2017)

5. Conclusion

5.1. In evaluating the pros and cons of social networking, it is the best to be cautious. Misuse of social networking sites may lead to a devastating effect. We should make good use of social networking sites to gain the maximum benefits out of it.

5.2. We agree that social networking sites allow users to connect with other people and causes identity theft easier.

5.3. We disagree that people can network professionally using social networking sites.
