1.1. Communication

1.1.1. Why is communication so important when talking about healthcare landscapes in technology and what is being used today?

1.1.1.1. In healthcare, communication is a big deal. It imperative that health systems stay competent and technologically updated in ways to use communication better and faster in order to create a more effective workplace. Cisco phones are used throughout the hospital amongst different departments for communication needs. Radios, the most fundamental of all, are used in different departments to communicate throughout the hospital also. Communication is dependent on what job title you posses in this industry. For example, mechanics carry radios, and nurses carry Cisco phones.

1.2. Software and Systems

1.2.1. Why is important that physicians/staff have safe and efficient ways to access areas, software, and equipment and what is being used?

1.2.1.1. Healthcare systems have many restricted documents/areas so it is crucial to have a system that is immutable, an access reader, and systems that are easy for staff to use. Healthcare systems normally go by a badging system to gain access to restricted areas. For equipment there is a system that documents the use of equipment to prevent possible scheduling conflicts, wear and tare on the equipment, possible theft or violations, and better efficiency in use. In software, there are systems that give access to patient information/documents by using log ins w/personal credentials that will give you access and prevent violations. For example, we use EPIC for patients information and ReportExec for facility incidents.

1.3.1. Why is important that customers are engaged technology and what do they use to better their experience?

1.3.1.1. Customers are the main reason why we do what we do so it is essential to make each process at your company for patients easy to use, resourceful, and dependable. On our website at my , we have tabs on the front page with the most popular general services/inquires offered at the hospital makes it easier for patients to find first-hand what they need.
