4. Motivation differences

4.1. AGE

4.1.1. According to the students age, their particular characteristics may affect their motivation.

4.1.2. Children

4.1.2.1. Curiosity(they are eager to discover/learn new things); short span attention; seek teacher approval( positive rapport); need variety in activities (stimulation); concrete thinking(need concrete techniques,terms; input).

4.1.3. Adolescents

4.1.3.1. A bit longer span attention; less curious (not interesting); they don´t want teachers´ approval, they seek for peers´ approval; less variety; abstract thinking, right level of challenge; interesting contexts; involved in the task.

4.1.4. Adults

4.1.4.1. Extrinsic motivation; longest attention span; abstract thinking, need new/more techniques; they don´t need teacher or peers approval, they need their own approval (they get easily frustrated); for the advanced learners they need to know they are learning; realistic goals.
