1. Chromatography
1.1. Chromatography is used to see the different colours in inks and food colourings. sometimes it is even used in robbery cases.
1.2. How to do Chromatography
1.2.1. get a piece of paper
1.2.2. draw a pencil line at the end
1.2.3. if you are seeing what colours are used in permanent marker pens then draw dots on the line.
1.2.4. then put the paper in a container and make sure only the bottom of the paper is touching the bottom of the container
1.2.5. then put ethanol (if you're using permanent markers) in the coantainer and put it until the pencil line
1.2.6. let the pen ink rise and then you can see what colours they were made out of
2. Distillation
2.1. Distillation is used to seperate liquids and solids from liquids
2.2. You can use a liebig condenser to distil liquids
2.3. how to didtil a mixture of liquids
2.3.1. You heat the liquids until it is the right temperature for the liquid you want to seperate to evapourate
2.3.2. there will be a cold surface above the container the liquid is boiling in the evapourated substance will condense on the surface, and voila the liquids are seperated
3. Solids Liquids and Gases
3.1. Solid
3.1.1. can not change shape
3.1.2. has a fixed volume
3.1.3. high density
3.1.4. can not flow
3.1.5. can not be compressed
3.1.6. Particles are very close
3.2. Liquid
3.2.1. can change shape
3.2.2. intermiediate density
3.2.3. can flow
3.2.4. can not be compressed
3.2.5. Particles weakly attached to each other so they can move a bit
3.3. Gases
3.3.1. can change shape
3.3.2. volume can change
3.3.3. very low density
3.3.4. can flow
3.3.5. can easily be compressed
3.3.6. Particles not close at all
