RENEWABLE ENERGY by Mind Map: RENEWABLE ENERGY

1. What is the Renewable Energy or Alternative Energy?

1.1. They are those that can replace current energy sources, either because of their lower polluting effect, or because of their capacity for renewal. This would include energy obtained through natural resources, biofuels and nuclear energy. Energy consumption is one of the great meters of Progress and the well-being of a society the concept of energy crisis appears when the energy sources from which society is supplied are drastically depleted or costly an economic model such as the current one whose functioning depends on a consumption of growth also demands an equally increasing demand for energy since fossil and nuclear energy are finite it is inevitable that a certain moment the demand can`t be supplied and the whole system collapses unless other new methods for obtaining energy are discovered and developed.

2. Points against

2.1. Damage to the landscape: in the case the wind turbines are said to produce sound pollution that impairs the sense of orientation of the birds or that they collide with the propellers.

2.2. buse of biofuel: can divert valuable food resources to burn them as gasoline, generating more CO2.

2.3. Construction of dams that cut the natural flow of rivers and damage natural ecosystems.

2.4. The availability of the region becomes a problem, because geographic conditions do not always allow the development of alternative energies.

2.5. They produce less energy than fossil fuels and the cost of their storage is high.

3. Points in favor

3.1. The energies of alternative sources have the potential to create a world that depends totally on them. This transition would bring not only advantages for the environment, but also to the economy and the use of energy.

3.2. They are safe and free of contaminants and are not considered harmful to health.

3.3. They come from inexhaustible energy sources and from multiple applications such as wind, hydro, biomass, geothermal, marine and the most well-known solar energy.

3.4. A personal energy: any citizen can become a producer of electricity generated by installations of residential solar panels.
