Game Design Challenge Brainstorming
by Catherine Shevelevich
1. Story
1.1. The game is a platformer and at the end of each level, the protagonist collect a child. There will be 4 levels (all of them not too short), because there are 3 kids, and on the last level, they "find a way out" of the platformer.
1.2. The character will have to get out of prison by going through a maze, but I'm not sure how exactly that will happen. There can also be a timer, so you will have to get through the maze and be within the time limit.
1.3. The player will make their own frozen yogurt and then get to devour it at the end of the game.
2. Characters
2.1. The player will have a choice of a character between a mother, father, grandma, or grandpa.
2.2. The player will have a choice between a man and a woman (their names can be Jill and Jack).
2.3. There will be no characters because it doesn't play a big role in the game. It will not make the game less interesting because you are not doing anything with the character in the game.
3. Plot
3.1. A family lost their kids in a forest while going on a camping trip. The kids went to the beach, but never came back. The children got separated, the family member has to find them separately.
3.1.1. Make a disclaimer at the home screen saying "PARENTS AND OTHER RESPONSIBLE ADULTS, DON'T LOOSE YOUR CHILDREN! CHILDREN, STAY WITH YOUR PARENTS WHEN GOING TO A FOREST!"
3.2. A guy went to prison and he was innocent, so he decides to do something illegal-escape jail.
3.2.1. Make a disclaimer at the home screen saying "PLEASE DON'T TRY TO GO TO JAIL, AND IF YOU DO, BY ALL MEANS DON'T TRY TO ESCAPE BECAUSE IT IS UNLIKELY THAT YOU WILL SUCCEED AND YOU WILL GET INTO MORE TROUBLE"
3.3. Someone opened an ice cream shop and they are selling frozen yogurt. The player has to make their own frozen yogurt out of the toppings provided.
3.3.1. Make a disclaimer at the home screen saying, "KIDS, FROZEN YOGURT IS DETRIMENTAL TO YOUR HEALTH! I AM SAYING KIDS BECAUSE ADULTS ARE (HOPEFULLY) SMART AND AVOID IT!"
