1. Geography and Agriculture

1.1. Aztec Geography was very swampy marsh lands but had fertile ground surrounded by lakes

1.2. Aztec agriculture was revolutional they invented something called a chinampa it was a plot of land staked down in the middle of a body of water

1.3. Food was not just grown on a chinampa they also had gardens either small community gardens or big city gardens that were traded across land and grew beans, squash, and maize

1.4. Aztec empire was located In south america now present day mexico and their empire was located behind many mountains and swamp marshes in the lowlands

2. Social structure and family life

2.1. Aztec social structure and communities were mainly influenced by their religious beliefs

2.2. Aztec families consist of the male or father who was the leader of the house the wife was expected to care for the children and keep track of food supply

2.3. A man was allowed to have multiple wives however more wealthy men typically had many wives and poor men usually had one family

2.4. the primary wife typically had the most responsibility and had to attend ceremony of the family

3. Economy and trade

3.1. Aztecs traded foods primarily food but also have traded metals

3.2. Aztecs were the first ones to make a trade route for tobacco

3.3. Aztec merchants and traders were thought high of in their society they were a class just below the nobles and were thought very highly of

3.4. The most common curency was trading and battering, they usally battered with cocoa

4. Arts and Education

4.1. In the Aztec empire every child woman and man was educated regardless of class

4.2. Every child was educated to 14 and then boys went into army training and girls went to a seperate school to learn home skills

4.3. The highest form of art was poetry in Aztec empire

4.4. Aztec art also included ancient mask sculptures and drawings of metaphors like the hummingbird that often symbolled the sun god

5. Government/Military

5.1. King or emperor called a tlatoani that ruled all neighboring lands and enforced tributes or gifts.

5.3. Boys from a young age were trained to go to war and men were expected to participate

5.4. Their empire stretched over 200,000 square kilometers and ruled 371 states across 38 provinces

6. Religion

6.1. Mesoamerican is the religion Aztecs followed which involved sacrifices to many gods

6.2. Their main god they believe in is the sun god or Huitzilopochtli

6.3. Huitzilopochtli needed blood sacrifices and it was said those who were sacrificed were raised to fight with him

6.4. In aztec religion the after life is based on how you died not how you lived(if you died in war it was considered an honor)

7. Science and Technology

7.1. Mathematics and science were very advanced at the time in Aztec empire they had a very complex number system

7.2. Medical science was ahead of it's time as well in the Aztec empire

7.3. Aztec tools were not made of iron or steel but they were still advanced they even made drills made of reed or bone

7.4. Aztec weapons were made of stone or copper
