Zeus: According to the ancient Greeks,Zeus was the youngest son of Cronus and Rhea. He was the supreme ruler of mount Olympus. This made him the supreme leader of gods and man. He was originally the weather god according to what the Greek tribes believed. He controlled thunder lightning and rain and was known to have caused thunderstorms. He convinced Cronus to vomit out the 5 children that he ate. He was Poseidon and Hade's brother and married. He married Hera and Metas and many other affairs with women. That's why he was basically related to any god you can name. Two of his offsprings were Athena and Apollo. He was Poseidon and Hade's brother. 1. Poseidon: According to the ancient Greeks, he was Hade and Zeus's brother. Drew slots with his brothers and became the god of the sea. Seamen worshiped him. He married Amphitrite (granddaughter of Oceanus). Once had feelings for Demeter, but after a while it wore off. His weapon was the trident (which can shake the earth or shatter any object). He is second only to Zeus when it comes to power amongst the gods. Had argued a lot, was greedy, and had many arguments with other gods when he tried to take over their land.
2. Hermes: According to the ancient Greeks, He was the fastest of the gods. he was Zeus's and Maia's son. He was Zeus's messenger.He wears a winged hat, shoes, and carries a magic wand. He is the god of commerce and thieves. He is the guide for the dead to go to the underworld. He invented the lyre, the pipes, the musical scale, astronomy , weights and measures, boxing, gymnastics, and the care of olive trees.
3. Apollo: According to the ancient Greeks, He was the son of Zeus and Hera. hIs twin sister was Artemis. He was the god of music, playing a golden lyre, god of archery, shot far with a silver bow,god of healing, taught man about medicine,The god of truth, can't lie, important task is to harness his chariott with four horses and driive the sun accross hte sky,famous for his oracle at Delphi, his tree was the laurel, his animal was the dolphin.
4. Athena: According to the ancient Greeks, Athena was Zeus’s daughter, Zeus gave birth to her from his fore head, so she had no mother, fights in wars that protect her people from outside enemies, fierce and tough, the goddess of the city, handicrafts, and agriculture, invented the bridle, the trumpet, the flute, the pot, the rake, the plow, the yoke, the ship, and the chariot, represented wisdom, reason, and purity, was Zeus’ favorite child so she got to use his weapons, favorite city was Athens, her bird was the owl, favorite tree was the olive tree, was a virgin goddess.
5. Hera: According to the ancient Greeks, Hera was Zeus's wife and sister, was raised by Titans Ocean and Tethys, protector of marraige and takes care of married women. Hera didn't want to marry Zeus,but he tricked/ raped her, so she married him to cover her shame. She once tried to revolt against him with all of the other gods, but it didn't work. Her animals were the cow and the peacock. Her favorite city was Argos.
6. Persephone: The wife of Hades and daughter of Demeter and Zeus.After Hades abducted her she became the queen of the underworld.
7. Demeter: The mother of Persephone.She is the reason why the seasons change.When her daughter was abducted by Hades she decided stop the things on earth from growing.upon her daughters return.they came upon the agreement that for four months out of the year she would be able to stay on earth.during that four months would be spring and when she is away she would it is winter because Demeter is not giving her gifts to the world.
