3.2. A performance assessment is an assessment that measures what a student can do with the knowledge that they have acquired. It evaluates how a student can apply that knowledge through demonstration of their instructional skill.

4. Diagnostic

4.1. A diagnostic test is a way for instructors to test students before they present instructional content. This assesses what the students already know where their misconceptions are coming from, and how plan a lesson plan that will better support their students needs.

5. Interim/Benchmark

5.1. An Assessment that tracks where a student is in their learning and identifies whether or not the student is ready to progress onto future learning.These forms of assessments are most typically given as standardized tests or final exams.
