My Network by Mind Map: My Network

1. MY DAD - Works for Thompson Rivers University, so has lots of University contacts in the medical field. This can help me with admissions for University.

2. MY AUNT - Also works in the medical field and is a care aid. After university, she could help me get a job through the institution she works for.

3. MY FRIENDS - Dafne has gone through university applications and gotten accepted into 2 university programs, and Jane has two sisters who have gotten in to University. I can get tips on all things university from them in hopes of successfully graduating in order to get a job later in life.

4. MY COUNSELLOR - My counseller has already and can help me plan out my future to ensure success and meeting requirements for applications and jobs. I am also interested in psychology, so she could help me plan to specialize in psychiatric nursing.

5. MY DAD'S BOSS - Christa is the manager of the department that my dad works in, and they are also good friends. I know with some extra schooling there are possible management positions in the nursing field. She can help me with applying for these positions and preparing for them, as it is something I am also interested in.

6. MY BROTHERS FRIEND'S FAMILY/ MY MOM'S FRIENDS - I know that my brother has friend's whose parents work all across the board in the medical field,(for example his friend Jack's mom is a dietician for IH) so I can use the connections there to get my foot in the door for possible specializations in certain fields.

7. MY MOM - Works at Kelowna General Hospital and has friends whose kids work in the nursing field and have graduated University. This can help me get prepared and I can ask any questions I need to at ease.

8. MY FAMILY FRIENDS - Lots of family friends we have work for interior health or other medical institutions across Canada. One of our closest friends, Amy, is a registered nurse, the same career I am interested in. She can help me prepare for the career and also help me get a job at Kelowna General Hospital as she works there as well.

9. MY DANCE INSTRUCTORS - My dance instructors have been dancing their entire lives, and have been injured more times than they can remember. They have seen all kinds of specialists and doctors to treat and help heal injuries, so by talking to them I can ask about who they know and go reach out to those specific people that they know of for more information about jobs in the medical field.
