1. Basics of Copyright

1.1. Form of protection for authors or artists to protect his/her own work

1.2. covers both published and unpublished literary, dramatic, musical, or artistic work

1.3. permission is needed to share a photos

2. Creative Commons

2.1. "all rights reserved" means artist must be contacted and asked for permissions

2.2. doesn't need to approve every single request for use

2.3. creator retains some rights

3. Fair Use

3.1. allows educators to use certain work for the classroom without having to obtain permission each time

3.2. users cannot digitize without permission

3.3. copies can only be made from original work
