1. counselling and psychotheraphy are umbrella terms that cover a range of talking therapies. they are delivered by training practitioners who work with people over a short or long term to help them bring about effective changes and enhance their well-being.

2. counselling is suitable and recommended for anyone suffering, anxiety, depression, mental health problems, addictions, eating disorders and anger management. etc.

2.1.1. counselling provides a a supportive service that creates a confidential space where clients can voice their feelings.

2.1.1.1. counselors are non-judgmental and impartial(no differentiating) , and simply REFLECT the clients worries and concerns so that they are able to see the difficulties from another perspective.

4.1. involves an interpersonal relationship with an individual who is seeking help for dealing with personal issues that interfere from a satisfactory life.

7.3. if not empowered the client depends too much on the counselor for making decisions and problem solving.

8.1. increases self-awareness and sense of well-being and is the first step to self discovery.

8.1.1. allows individual time to explore feelings and limited beliefs.

8.1.1.1. therapeutic relationship between counselor and client will strengthen from week to week enabling the client to open up and focus on the changes they want to make in their life.

8.1.1.1.1. challenges you , at the same time being sensitive to your feelings and keeping the confidentiality.

9. goal of a counsellor

9.1. help the client to make continual progress though therapeutic treatment and to ensure that their sense of well-being is restored. eg: encourage small steps like making a CV for unemployed clients.
