1. USE: The imperative expresses a request to one or several people to do something or not.

1.1. EXAMPLE

1.1.1. Stop!

1.1.2. Get in!

1.1.3. Don’t drive too fast!

2. CONJUGATION

2.1. The verbs in imperative have the infinitive form of the verb without to and without personal pronoun.

2.1.1. EXAMPLE

2.1.1.1. to stop → Stop!

2.1.1.2. to get in → Get in!

2.1.1.3. to fasten the seatbelt → Fasten your seatbelt!

3. NEGATIVE FORM

3.1. To give a negative order; that is, requesting that something not be done, the imperative.

3.2. auxiliary verb do + not. The most common is to use the contraction don't.

3.2.1. EXAMPLE

3.2.1.1. Don’t drive too fast!

3.2.1.2. Don’t be sick in my taxi!

4. IN IMPERATIVE

4.1. the auxiliary do is also used for the verb be.

4.1.1. EXAMPLE

4.1.1.1. Don’t be silly!
