1.1. She had 5 centres set up that gave the students hands to experience the concept better.
1.2. During listening/dicussion centre she allowed the students brainstorm. The teacher also had the students reflect on previous dicussions, books and prior learned knowledge.
2. Meaningful
2.1. The teacher taught about the "Winter Soltice" allowing the students to go home and tell their parents about that day coming up on December 6th.
2.2. Students relate to what the meaning to holidays and relating it to home and other communities.
3. Challenging
3.1. Making the students think about their favourite season and draw it.
3.2. Students worked productively with others in groups. Very well behaved class that worked well together in centres and listening centre.
4. Integrative
4.1. The teacher linked the past to the present by reading stories of the past and linking it by allowing students to explain how it is in the present
4.2. The teacher is very knowledgeable and well prepared for the class. She has materials and resources in place and makes the students bring in their own ideas also.
5. Value based
5.1. Students had to really think about their favourite holiday and draw a picture it.
5.2. The teacher brought in different cultural traditional symbols used to celebrate Christmas.
