1. Cut scene of play, in a blur, once it is done you are back in the box, arrows appear fo allow you to choose which way to move. A map also appears in the top right corner of the screen. Text prompts you "the play is over, time to head home"

1.1. Since you do not know where your home is in the game, this step would force you to walk around town clicking on different houses and seeing what dialouge the game popped back at you. For example, if you clicked on a tavern it might say "As you pass the door to the tavern, you consider going inside however, as you are tired, you think better of it and decide to continue home. At some point you will see a prostitute, the one from earlier, she will be staggering you could: 1. approach her and see what is wrong 2. Continue home, she probably just had a few too many drinks.

1.1.1. 1. You approach the prostitute, to your surprise, she does not have the scent of any sort of alcohol on her. You attempt to talk to her, asking her what is wrong but all you can get out of her is incoherent mumbling. You begin to grow uneasy, wondering what could have afflicted the woman, when a shadow falls across you, turning around you see the young man you had observed earlier, at the sight of him the prostitute seems for a second to become responsive, hollering and pointing at him, her eyes bulging with terror. 1. Do you run, as all your instincts tell you to 2. Reason that the woman is crazy and attempt to talk to the man.

1.1.1.1. You dart around the man and tear crazily back towards the main part of town, he grabs at you, snatching your shawl and tearing it. Not caring, you continue running until you reach the main street, at this point he seems to have given up his pursuit, perhaps in fear of being spotted, so, as your nerves settle down, you make your way home. Ordering the servants to bolt the door and allow no strangers to enter, you retire to your chambers, falling in to an uneasy sleep. The next morning you are faced with a choice: do you 1. pretend like nothing happened and carry on with your life 2. antagonized into action by the events of last night, go back to the theatre and attempt to seduce him in the guise of a prostitute.

1.1.1.1.1. 2. It is the next evening, you have assembled garb suitable for the woman you intend to imperson. You descend to the pit and take up a position on a bench, all the time searching for the mysterious young man from the previous night. you are quickly surrounded by a hoard of potential purchasers praising you intently in an attempt to secure your services. You turn them away, not in the least bit worried about the disappointment it will bring them, all the while continuing to scan for your target. At last, you catch a glimpse of him heading to the exit. Making an excuse to the hoard surrounding you you start off in pursuit only to discover that he is leading another prostitute. Do you 1. Approach him anyway 2. Follow him covertly.

1.1.1.2. 2. despite your growing unease, you face the man. Politely, you inquire "my dear sir, I observed you earlier with this woman and now she seems to be in a fit, do you perhaps know the means of her ailment". Stepping forward and pinning you against the wall behind you, he replies, in a voice so low it seems more like a growl, "my dear, I will show you". You tremble in fear, but pinned as you are you can go nowhere. Suddenly, and before you have any real chance to struggle, he takes you, you are almost paralyzed with fear and shock, and, as it happens, you see him transform. The flesh melts off of his body, the hands pinning you tightly to the wall grow longer, turning into claws, and, most alarmingly, his eyes seem to change as well. Through them, you seem to glimpse the fiery pits of hell. He finishes with you and withdrawing, morphs into his human form once again. Then muttering to himself, though after your ordeal you are in no shape to comprehend his ramblings, he says "A high-class woman like you would start murmurings wandering around the streets, no I'll dispose of you differently". At this point, he picks up your unprotesting body, and, tossing you over his shoulder carries you a few blocks the river, and throws you in. In your crazed state, you make no effort to stay afloat, sinking like a stone into the murky depths. You lost. The end.

1.1.2. Once you reach your home you retire, happy to have stayed out of any serious drama. Soon your mother returns and your freedom is gone. According to customs you eventually marry a man, within you social class, of course, and begin a family. However, you are never happy, your thirst for adventure never fulfilled. On your thirtieth birthday, reflecting on what you have accomplished with your life, resenting society for forcing you into a domestic life, you feel despair overwhelming you, and the next morning, you are found dead, having hung yourself from the rafters of the barn during the night. You lost. The end.

2. 2. It is the next evening, after leaving the playhouse last night you assembled garb suitable for the woman you intend to imperson.

2.1. 1. You approach him, attempting to be as seductive as possible, you loosen the top of your corset and walk so that your hips sway tantalizingly, as you approach you can see just how attractive the man is despite his threadbare clothing. His arms are toned and he has a strong jaw. As you catch up them he turns, catching sight of you he smiles, running his eyes up and down your body. Turning away from the prostitute he addresses you with the normal salutations of your pretended profession. Asking you how long you had used this house if you are engaged, and the like. You converse with him in this time the prostitute has become engaged with another gentleman and all of the mans attention is focused on you. You are undeniably charmed by him, however, looking into his face something seems off, something about his eyes. You brush it off, telling yourself that you are being frivolous. He tells you that his name is Beaupalisar and offers to accompany you to a house of his procuring. This, of course, puts you in a dilemma, being of distinguished birth you have no intention of letting your reputation and good virtue be soiled by the fulfillment of this man's foul desires. However, you go along with him anyways and hope to evade his amorous embrace later in the night. He takes you back to his lodging. Despite your many attempts at an exuse nothing dissuades him. His desire seemed to have overcome him, he claims he must enjoy you, and he ravages you, and as it happens, you see his true form, Satanic looking, devoid of flesh, and catching his eyes, it is as though you are looking straight into Hell. Unfortunately, this encounter left you insane, you spent the rest of your short life in rags, scorned by society, mumbling incoherently until winter came and you were found dead in the gutter one morning. You lost. The End.

2.2. The man, accompanied by the prostitute, ducks into a dark alley.

2.2.1. You watch in silent shock as the prostitute engages in the acts of her profession with the man. They are barely tucked out of sight in the alley. As he comes undone, he seems to morph, the flesh melting off of his body, his hands morphing into long claws, he lets out a muffled throaty roar, seeming to draw power out of the woman, she gasps and collapses into a heap on the ground. He withdraws, slowly morphing back into human form, turning away he begins to head down the alley and back in your direction. The cold hand of fear clutches around your heart do you 1. Run 2. Stand quietly and hope you go unnoticed.

2.2.1.1. 1. You turn and begin to run, your feet pounding on the cobbles, you can feel your heart pounding in your ribcage as you desperately try to suck in air. You hear his footsteps closing in and he snatches your petticoat, pulling you in. He begins pulling of your clothing, undoing your corset. In desperation you kick at him, landing a solid kick on his shin and then kneeing him in the groin. He shrieks in pain and you manage to flee until you end up back in the center of town.

2.2.1.1.1. .

2.2.1.2. 2. You draw yourself back into the shadows, clutching your shawl close around you and barely daring to breath. As he approaches you can hear his breathing and smell the sweat clinging to him from his recent ordeal, as he approaches the spot where you are hiding he begins to sniff, taking in long, slow breaths and turning his head side to side like a wolf in search of its prey, his piercing eyes look straight at you through the darkness, they seem almost to glow and you imagine you can see fire and brimstones on the other side. Eventually, he goes past you and back out into the alley leaving you alone with the prostitute and very much shaken.

2.2.1.2.1. At this point the dialogue would go away and it would let you explore the town.

3. You set about town in an attempt to gather more information regarding his whereabouts. After much inquiry you discover that he plans to visit Bath. Reasoning that this will be an ideal place to assail him as, having no expectations of encountering you there, he will be less likely to doubt any guise you might erect to ensnare him. After making an excuse about visiting a relative, you set off for Bath. Upon your arrival you discover that he is taking up lodgings at an inn. 1. Dress once again as a prostitute and attempt to seduce him. 2. Pose as a maid in the house he is staying at and hope he takes interest in you.

3.1. 1.

3.2. 1. After reassuming your guise from the box, though this time with the addition of a small blade, you take up a post on a corner near the inn, behaving in exactly the manner you supposed would be suitable for someone of your supposed trade. So intent are you in the workings of this performance that you do not notice the footsteps approaching behind you. Suddenly, a cold, clammy hand clamps tightly over your mouth, and another goes to your neck. Your attacker drags you back, out of sight from the inn, at the same time, his fingernails dig deep into the soft flesh of your neck, you claw desperately at his hands trying to get air into your lungs, then, remembering the knife, you plunge your hand into your pocket, however, noticing this change in objective, the monster knocks it out of your hand with ease. You watch, continuing to struggle, as your only weapon, slides, clattering, across the cobbles to come to rest far out of reach. Turning you around, so that you can now see his ghastly face, he slams you into a wall, you feel a hot sticky substance trickling from your head down the back of your neck, and, looking at the ground, see bright crimson drops of blood. This seems to spur him on even more, and ripping of your petticoats he has his way with you, pausing only to say, "you foolish girl, you think I would not recognize you. Well you will get the punishment you are dressed for." As it happens the world is already going dim, the wound in your head still dripping blood, but you see with dulled horror his transformation, his hellish eyes, before the world goes dark. You lost. The end.

3.3. 2.

3.3.1. After some inquiry you obtain a position as a maid whose sole job is to tend to the male residents of that inn. Having procured this posting you set about creating a disguise. You first change your hair to a dark coal color, and, following this put on a rural dress. To top off this disguise you adopted the crude manner of speak native to those parts, which, having been raised in the area, comes second nature to you. In addition to these things, you arm yourself with a small blade, which you tuck neatly into the pockets beneath your petticoats. The next morning, you enter his room, on the pretense of needing to change the linens. He is clearly fired at the first sight of you, and it is here that you first learn the his name or at least the name of the human he pretends to be, as he introduces himself to you as Beauplaisir. He proceeds quickly, asking you many questions of an amorous sort, you answer in the most innocent way, while at the same time edging closer to him. He grabs your arm, pulls you in and begins kissing your lips, then neck until he slowly works down to your breasts, the feeling is new to you and you almost allow yourself to be swept away, but, knowing that it would lead to your destruction, you keep your wits about you, and, as he is distracted by his endeavors, you pull the knife from her pocket and stab it deep into his chest. His reaction was not as you expect, however, he laughs, deeply, his eyes flashing with the same hellish light that you witnessed in the alley, “you think that will kill me, you foolish girl”. Do you 1. run. 2. Stay and attempt to pull the knife out and stab him again.

3.3.1.1. 1.

3.3.1.1.1. You turn and flee, leaving the blade still impaled in his chest, buried up to the hilt where it should have gone straight to the heart, though, looking back, there was no reason to suspect this creature had a heart. You run out of the inn, and into the night, your bare feet slapping the ground and echoing loudly, having nowhere to go, and being far from home you tear blindly through the street, you head to the busiest section of town, and attempt to lose yourself in the crowd, for once not minding being jostled by bodies on all sides. You gather your wits about you as you continually scan the crowd for the beast. Despite the shock, your fear starts to abate as you realize that the monster is not pursuing you. As the fear subsided you become painfully aware of the biting cold and you begin to shiver, looking around you attempt to find a place to stay for the night. The only inn in the town is the one you have so recently vacated. Do you 1. return to the inn, hoping he will not pursue you. 2. Bed down in some hay in a small barn that you find empty, and attatched to the tavern, presumably for guest's horses.

3.3.1.2. 2. Trying to hold down the panic that is spreading in you like a fire, you grasp at the hilt of the knife, attempting to pull it out of that devilish chest, the monster, with seemingly infinite calm, puts his hand over yours, "two can play at that game my love", then, quickly, he tears the knife out of his chest, wrenches it out of your hand, and deftly stabs it into your chest. As you sink to the ground, clutching helplessly at the blade impaled in your bosom, you look up, and with your last breath, look into the face of the monster, and, finding his eyes, see them still burning with animal desire. You lost. The end.
