American Involvement in World War II - Unit Plan Map

1. Main Purpose of Unit: "Students will analyze America's participation in World War II."

2. Topic 1: "Students will examine the origin of American involvement in the war, with an emphasis on the events that precipitated the attack on Pearl Harbor."

2.1. Students will complete Guided Lecture and its notes and an exit ticket to demonstrate understanding of the content.

3. Topic 2: "Students will analyze Roosevelt's foreign policy during World War II. (i.e. Four Freedom's Speech)"

3.1. Students will demonstrate understanding by analyzing primary and secondary sources and producing analysis commentary on the worksheet.

4. Topic 3: "Students will analyze U.S. and Allies wartime strategies, including major battles on Midway, Norway, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and the Battle of the Bulge."

4.1. Students will understand the Battles of World War II by completing a PPT / Google Slide and presenting it to the class. The class will recording the groups findings and ask follow-up questions on the worksheet.
