Collaborative feedback to TAOK by Mind Map: Collaborative feedback to TAOK

1. Using inspiring technical tools in teaching , and practically using different assessment criteria

1.1. teaching method practice+ new tools

1.1.1. the zoom meeting worked surprisingly well

1.1.1.1. Tools. New creative methods

2. 1. What would you absolutely not change in module C studies (name, what went well)

2.1. Humberto: Assessments formative and summative and Rubrics for Assessment

2.2. new teaching methods, collaborations, new technology tools

2.3. The group assignments and collaboration.

2.3.1. Implementation plan task was useful

2.4. Padlet discussions about teachings and assessment methods. (3 yes - 1 no).

2.5. Lively discussions in the classroom and time allocated to those

2.6. demonstrating teaching methods

2.7. Group teaching method demonstrations and assessment criteria evaluations

2.8. The development of study implementation plan

3. the texts in moodle were well selected

3.1. I really enjoy constructively aligned teaching videos

3.1.1. Me too!

3.2. Structure was easy to follow up: contact days and independent study

3.3. the assignments were clear

3.4. the materials was well organised and enough information and different kinds of materials like visuals ones also interesting

4. 2. What should be changed (why and how) in TAOK module C studies in the future

4.1. maybe the teaching practice, it is really not easy for the person to find the training place if their native language is not Finnish. (at least for me, it is really difficult)

4.2. Some teaching practice simulated lessons could be done during contact days.

4.2.1. This would help to start the practice. Makes starting easier.

4.2.1.1. Very much agreed!

4.3. reduce the contact period

4.3.1. and/or contact days via Zoom

4.4. More time allocated to assessment as it is a difficult subject

4.4.1. slightly more focus on student centered approaches

4.5. with some tasks the group work didn't work out well, for example the implementation plan analysis would've been better to do individually

4.5.1. Or as a group work before the lectures. On the classroom it was not enough time.

4.5.1.1. I agree!

4.5.2. We spent a lot of time on explaining the instructions and requirements of the Moodle

4.6. more time to concrete practice of assessment i.e. via case examples

4.6.1. Maybe students could build a tool pack during the module and share how they have use the methods earlier.

4.7. perhaps guiding the teacher students to find fresh, new and inspiring methods: finding that inner well-beingness in teaching

4.8. More examples of real assessment criteria

4.8.1. Maybe some kind of a demonstration on assessment methods?

4.9. more group workshop and practical group work

4.10. Too much information about the requirements of Module C within a limited timeframe. LESS IS MORE! SIMPLIFY!

4.11. more practice about implementation plan for a course

4.11.1. Example from our course. How the implementation plan looks?

4.12. Adopt a practice school

4.13. Some analysing work would perhaps be more useful if completed as individual tasks, then discussed within the group.

4.14. The method workshop was the best part, but it could've been even better if the teacher had controlled it more, so that there wouldn't been two same methods. It would've been interesting to experince also for example game-based methods that no groups chose. It woud've been also nice if people had shown the best methods that they have ever experienced or used in teaching.

4.15. A practice school wher trainee teacher students can conduct their teaching practice or observations

4.16. A lot of information about planning a class and assessment: could be easier giving first a very full good example. Trying to avoid expend time and being efficiently in class.

4.17. More supervision on the teaching methods demos; now two groups were presenting the same method, it would have been more interesting to have all different

4.18. Time management wasn't always great.

4.19. Less instruction. Too much information. Less clarity

5. I was able to learn a lot about:

5.1. different teaching methods

5.2. remote collaboration via online tools with our small group

5.3. New literature

5.4. new online tools

5.5. use of technology was advanced

5.5.1. thank you!

5.6. You teach what you assess + assess what you teach

5.7. Implementation plan: more modern is to use activities than teaching methods.

5.8. Competence is the key.

5.8.1. Learning outcomes are something what student should be able to reach after the course

5.8.2. Competence is something wider and more holistic view of learning.

6. More use of ONLINE contacts rather than physical cantacts, as the physical contacts involve so much costs for teacher-students not living in Tampere
