7. The Novellae: presented legislation passed after 534.

8. This code served the Bryzantine Empire for 900 years.

9. Justinian rebuilt most parts of the Empire. The emperor's great passion was church building.

26. After Justinian's death the empire suffered countless setbacks.

27. The bubonic plague destroyed a huge percentage of the Byzantine population.
