FUTURE OF TECHNOLOGY IN 2025 by Mind Map: FUTURE OF TECHNOLOGY IN 2025

1. 1. The importance to study the past to understand the future.

1.1. How people in the past imagined the houses in 2025? It is important to talk about the past to see what people think about the future. In 1957, The Walt Disney World imagined an ultra-modern house with synthetic things (Stock, 2009). They imagined that a house fabricated by plastic items will be built around 1986, including an ultrasound dishwasher with a plastic dishes and a washroom by plastic (Stock, 2009). Watching the video entitled “House of the Future, 1957” (n.d) we see things that are ultramodern, such as an refrigerator that even in nowadays does not exist yet, but things that is very antique, like tube TV that is showed in the kitchen. This details are important to see that, even if we think in something that will be modern, may be our creativity cannot imagine what can be create in the future. The house the future in 1957, for example, showed a house with a climate control, that we already can see in nowadays in our own homes. Also, a system that you can call for everyplace or a living room with stereo sound for the entire house, that they already imagined and is possible to see in nowadays.

3. 2. The lifestyle and the future of the houses.

3.1. What they did not imagine and the architectures in nowadays already predicted for the houses in 2025? The houses in 2025 will be ecological awareness. While the houses the future in the past were imagined with all the electrical stuff, the house in 2025 will be with things more sustainable as possible, such as sun energy and recycle materials. Also, the houses in 2025 will be very technological. According to Bello (2019), the technology is the biggest influence in the house in 2025. She said that “with the advent of 5G, the percentage of connected devices in the home will continue to grow, “and in the near future, the question won't be how many devices are connected. The question will actually be, how many devices are not connected”. This shows that the houses in 2025 will be completely connected and dependent from internet. As we can see, the way of we will sleep, eat and be retired at home will be induced by the style of our homes.

4. 4. How the houses in 2025 will looks like?

4.1. The article “What Will Smart Homes Look Like in 2025 and Beyond?” (Co Lab, n.d) introduced some ideas how the houses in 2025 will looks like. This is an inspirational way to see the world and to check if we already have a vision about this future not so distant. According to Co Lab (n.d) “Future homes will run off of solar power, wind turbines and water catchment systems. You will be able to grow your own food in gardens, on roof tops and balconies… Predictions are that people’s homes will go vertical…” As we can see, the vertical movement is already possible to see, since land are more scarce and we many people want to live in the bigger cities. The technological and ecofriendly houses are the most popular prediction for the houses in 2025. The biggest innovation, in my opinion, is the smart windows, that the glass can turns from translucent to opaque. This technology can help to reduce the heating and cooling costs and also help to eliminate curtains.(Co Lab, n.d)

5. 5. Smarter, connected and environmental friendly.

5.1. Voices assistants already started to be used in nowadays. In 2025, it will be an essential part of the houses. Bello (2019) said that almost all devices and appliances of used at home will be connected to voices assistants and around will be around 8 billion voice assistant devices trough the world. The houses in 2025 will be also eco-friendly, as we said. The world is growing in ecological awareness, for this reason, houses in 2025 could be no different. According to Bello(2019) “The house of the future will also allow us to understand our consumption levels more efficiently, it will be able to analyze each room’s environment, letting you know where you’re losing energy".

6. 6. How you will buy your house in 2025?

6.1. According to The Future Laboratory, the purchase of homes in 2025 will make extensive use of technology. Virtual reality headsets, gloves that simulate touches and drones will be used, software that, with the use of the internet, allows a projection of the house that the buyer wants to be made. According to Fraser (2016), “These will scoop up big data, including social media interactions and web history, to form a ‘psychographic’ profile of the buyer's lifestyle, in order to present their dream home. A buyer’s expressed and intuitive desires which have been revealed on the internet will go towards their requirements for a home.” It is also interesting to note that the famous “for sale” signs may have their end, as there will be the possibility that the details of the house can reach the person through a smartphone, and the drones will be able to provide important information when choosing the house, such as verifying whether the future neighbors usually make a lot of noise and discover the flow of local traffic. In addition, through virtual reality, while it will be possible to choose the furniture in the house and make a virtual renovation, there will be the possibility of concomitant communication with the builder about the hologram of the house.

7. 3. How will the houses be built in 2025?

7.1. A house in 2025 will be built faster than today and will be accompanied by a lot of technology. The use of wireless energy is projected, using nanoparticles paint, which will allow surfaces that change color according to the owner's preference; self-cleaning walls, 3D printers used to create real-time parts for the construction site and functional objects for a home, drones that will be used to move to the construction store and bring materials purchased online to the site, and many technological equipment to manage the house being built.

8. Creative topic

8.1. The tool that we chose as part of this work, namely the mind map, and it was creative for us because we discover it recently in the cybernation course. The online program is called Mindmeister. Before that, we had never done anything similar. We thought that only IT and marketing professionals could do it, but we was very happy to realize that. Despite being a layman on the subject, we managed to complete my mind map even though we faced some difficulties. We repeated it several times to reach the final result and, after a lot of persistence, it worked. We realized that the mind map is also creative because it is excellent in capturing the public's attention, it can be used both in the academic and professional areas and can pass complex information in an interesting way. So, we liked so much worked with that tool.

9. Conclusion

9.1. In conclusion, diving into the futuristic world allows the perception of what can be expected from homes in 2025 to be much broader. It is possible to realize that we will not only have houses, it will be a new experience of intelligence and practicality. They will be homes with greater comfort and safety. And each year, the houses will be reinvented, bringing more news and technological interactions. And yesterday will always be the memory of what has been lived, and that memory will always be the construction of new perspectives and the path to a wiser future.
