1. Worship

1.1. The Mosque is the Islamic place of worship.

1.1.1. Muslims also use this structure as a place to celebrate festivals and rituals.

1.1.2. It can also be used to host schools and other community centres.

1.2. The Tomb is a place where Muslims go to visit their loved ones who have passed. They also have a palace where they go to relax and hunt for Muslim rulers

1.2.1. They had a "fort" which was used for military bases and protection during the war.

2. Beliefs

2.1. Muslims believe in one God

2.1.1. The five pillars of Islam Shahada, Salat, Zakat, Fasting during the month of Ramadan, Pilgrimage to Mecca Khitan, Aqiqah, Eid al- fitr, Eid al- adha

2.1.1.1. They pray five times a day

2.1.1.2. The Quran is the muslim scripture

2.1.1.3. Hadith is a record of Muhammad’s words and actions and his statements about religious practices

3. Qu'ran and Shariah Laws

3.1. The Quran is the Muslim scripture, it tells Muslims how they should live their lives the right way. The Qu'ran is treated with respect.

3.2. The Suras are chapters

3.3. Sunna “ the path muslims follow”

3.3.1. Shariah Laws is a list of moral rules set out by Allah for Muslims

3.3.2. The three texts that make up Shariah laws are: the Qur’an ( how a person should live a good life), the Sunna (a collection of Muhammand’s sayings and actions), and the Hadith (provides moral and legal interpretations of specific issues)

3.3.3. The Fiqh has less authority than the Qur’an, Sunna and Hadith

3.3.4. There are 5 categories of laws

4. Prophet Muhammad

4.1. He was married to a woman named Khadija

4.1.1. Prophet Muhammad is a very respected and important to the Muslim religion

4.1.2. Muhammad was a Arab religious, social and political leader and the founder of Islam.

4.1.2.1. He was given the message of God and it was his job to get the message out to the others. Prophet Muhammad taught people in Mecca about Allah

5. Rituals and symbols

5.1. Ramadan is one of the biggest traditions in this religion. You are required to fast for a month, while the sun is up until night. This is a month of forgiveness for your sins and for you to pray to Allah.

5.1.1. The prayer rug is a piece of fabric that is places between the worshiper and the ground for cleanliness during prayers.

5.2. Eid al- Fitr is celebrated during the end of Ramadan. People get to see their family and exchange gifts and visit their loved ones who have passed.

5.2.1. The prayer compass is a symbol of how praying is important in the Islamic religion. It is meant to show direction of the Qibla.

5.3. Eid al- Adha marks the culmination of the Hajj at Mecca. During this you practice communal prayers and animal sacrifices that you share within the community

5.3.1. Calligraphy art is used in Islam to praise God, they can be found on tiles, praying rugs and ornaments.
