1. Data bases. A database is an organised collection of data. -DBMS(Database management system). -Example of DBMS:> ~apple file maker. ~Microsoft maker. ~SQL server Microsoft. ~my SQL. ~Fox Pro. => an entity is a person or physical they about which data is held in a database
2. Data types. -a database field is a single piece of information from a record. Data record. -a collection of fields about same person/item or object. Primary key. -a primary key is a field in a table which uniquely identifies each row/record in a database table.
3. Input- an input device is a piece of hardware used to provide data to a computer for processing. Output- an output device is any piece of computer hardware equipment used to convert information into human readable form.
4. -Platter is a disk where data is read/written often has two surfaces accessed by the read/write head.
5. -CD and DVDs are described as (optical storage devices.) laser light is used to read data and to write data in the surface of the disk. -CD and DVDs use thin layer of metal alloy or light sensitivity organic track, which runs from the centre of the disk to the edge.
6. HDD
6.1. -SSD has no moving parts. -sustainable for laptops/mobile device. -uses chips instead of platter. -uses low power.
6.2. -spins at around 7000 times per s/m. -read/write head-> mechanism that is used to record or access data on platter/disk.
7. -stand for hard disk drive.
8. Types of input devices- keyboard, mouse, joystick, light pen, track ball, scanner, digitiser, microphone. Types of output- moniter, printer, Graphics output device, speaker.
9. Input and output

9.2. Grading & emphasis:
10. Storage
10.1. SSD(solid state drive)
10.2. Off-line storage
10.2.1. -the data is stored in pits and bombs
