4.1. beginning

4.1.1. we are introduced to Juniper, who is wandering the castle. we are given clues to how spoiled she is and what her personality is like

4.1.2. she sees Finley, who is on her first riun to the castle, and is interested. she overhears some of their conversation and learns why Finley is there.

4.1.3. they meet and talk, getting along well and agreeing to speak again

4.2.1. Finley continues to make deliveries to the castle, "bumping into" Juniper and becoming closer to her. Juniper gives Finley a bracelet.

4.2.2. Finley learns that Juniper believes she knows what her future will be like. She also learns that Juniper sees her parents almost saint-like.

4.2.3. Meanwhile, the King and Queen raise the tax and begin punishing people who express any disliking to this.

4.2.4. Finley witnesses all this and is deeply upset. Juniper is taught by her tutor that the villagers are doing something wrong.

4.3. end

4.3.1. Finley, who's family is affected by the tax, goes to Juniper on her next delivery and asks her to talk her parents out of it.

4.3.2. After seeing that Juniper has no idea what she's talking about and has no interest in talking to her parents, Finley gets into a heated conversation with Juniper about her parents and what she knows and doesn't know.

4.3.3. Finley walks out on Juniper and learns that the punishments have gone to another level. The villagers start a riot in protest and Juniper joins. Juniper sees this and begs Finley to stop. Finley refuses and continues to protest, leaving Juniper to make her own assumptions about Finley. Juniper is afraid because she never expected anything like this.

4.3.4. Juniper watches the city and villagers get killed and burned, staying behind the castle walls. She seems indifferent to these horrors. She sees one villager get cornered and pelted with knives near the castle and looks closer only to see light reflect off of the bracelet she'd given Finley.

4.3.5. Juniper is horrified and begins to cry in front of her window, trying to assure herself that Finley was another one of the "savages". Just then, the castle walls explode and villagers burst into the castle holding pitchforks.
