1.2.1. To obtain oil, the US started a coup that lead to the resignation of the PM, who was known for stopping Britain and America from hogging Iran's oil. after the coup, the US replaced the Pm with a dictator who caused many problems for the Iranians.

1.3.1. This was an illegal deal between the Us and Iran, in which Us sold weapons to Iran which Iran provided to Contra- anticommunist regimes.

1.4. Strait of Hormuz

1.4.1. Both the US and Iran are trying to control the Strait of Hormuz, known as the the choke point of the global economy as it is the only way to access the oil fields in Kuwait and also the only point of entry for the from the Persian gulf to the ocean. In the end, Iran had to sign a nuclear deal so oil could come through the strait ofHormuz

1.5. Alliance with Saudi Arabia

1.5.1. Saudi Arabia and Iran have engaged in multiple Proxy-Wars, in which each countries back rebel groups in hopes of creating anarchy. When Us declared alliance with Saudi Arabia, it was a low point in US- Iran relationships

1.6. Invading Iraq

1.6.1. The US occupied Iraq, which was seen as a buffer zone between Saudi Arabia and Iran. However, when the US didnt get a leader into postiton, rebel groups formed bent on destroying either Saudi Arabia or Iran.

2. Death of Solemani

2.1. Solemani was killed in a Drone strike ordered by Trump, as a way to instill fear into the of Iran as Trump thought this was way to cut back the Iranian Influence in the middle East.

3. After Solemani

3.1. Effects

3.1.1. It was because Iran was inflating oil prices by monitoring the Strit of Hormuz. Donald Trump scrapped the Nuclear Deal with Iran by trying to obtain the Strait through force. As this was a direct violation of the deal, Iran started its Nuclear program again.

3.1.2. It also lead to a strong anti-Us sentiment in Iran , which lead to threats between two nations, almost destroying what little of a relationship they had.
